Malcolm Thomas rolls up a Syracuse bowl-record 201 yards rushing as the Orangemen dent Houston's defense for 396 yards on the ground. Thomas sparks the Syracuse win with a long run on the opening possession setting up a 1-yard TD run by Donovan McNabb.

The Cougars draw within 16-14 before halftime. But Syracuse's ground game continues to roll in the 2nd half with McNabb adding a 2nd TD run and Thomas capping the scoring with a 6-yard TD run.
