The Bayou Bengals prevail in a surreal 19-15 victory over Auburn.

Interceptions decide the contest in LSU's favor after the 1st half is played against the backdrop of a raging fire next to Jordan-Hare Stadium as an activities contest becomes an inferno as the teams play on. Raion Hill becomes LSU's hero in the 4th quarter, returning a pick 39-yards for a TD and 17-9 lead. After Rusty Williams rushes for a 7-yard TD w/ :38 left in the contest, Auburn goes for 2 points, but Hill intercepts Jon Cooley's pass and returns it for 2 points and a 19-15 lead.

Auburn is able to recover the ensuing onside kick, but Chris Donaldson picks Cooley to seal the victory. Auburn shot its self in the foot in other ways as Jaret Holmes misses 2 FGs, has another blocked and has a PAT blocked as well.
