John Hessler comes off the bench after Koy Detmer is knocked out with a concussion and leads a 2nd half rally by Colorado. Hessler's 1-yard sneak for a TD puts the Buffaloes ahead with 3:10 to play, and then Colorado stops 2 last possessions by Texas.

The Longhorns lead 17-14 until Herchell Troutman keeps on a halfback pass and takes it in for a 13-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter. However, Texas rallies on a 2-yard TD pass from James Brown to Matt Davis in the 4th quarter.
