Texas Tech's defense steps up in the 4th quarter denying an Oklahoma comeback to stay alive in the Big XII South race. Zebbie Lethridge throws for 1 TD and runs for another helping the Red Raiders overcome the Sooners shutting down Byron Hanspard.

Hanspard manages just 84 yards on 28 carries, losing out to Troy Davis for the national rushing title. However, Lethridge converts several big plays, including a 31-yard TD pass to Donnie Hart that opens a 13-3 lead for Tech.
