Syracuse weathers a torrential rain to capture its 1st Big East championship with the Orangemen's 1st win at Miami since 1971. Kyle McIntosh leads 3 runners over 100 yards, with 136 yards, followed by Dee Brown's 117 yards and 100 yards from Donovan McNabb.

McNabb jump starts Syracuse's day with 2 TD passes to Jim Turner in the 1st quarter. Miami briefly gets into the game with a 2-yard TD pass from Ryan Clement to Reggie Wayne, but Tebucky Jones follows with a 2-yard TD run giving the Orangemen a 20-7 cushion before halftime.
