Trojans stop the Bears 27-17.

Southern Cal's offense awakens to help earn a 1st win, beating 2-0 Cal. LaVale Woods rushes for 129 yards and 2 TDs after the Trojans' running game had sputtered in the opening games.

Woods converts an interception by Rashard Cook into a 1-yard TD run for the 1st score, and then he adds a 4-yard TD run late in the 1st half for a 27-3 lead. John Fox hits 15-of-28 for 250 yards and 2 TDs.

The Bears stage a rally in the 2nd half with a pair of TD passes by Justin Vedder.
