Southern Cal wins it on Adam Abrams' 37-yard FG w/ 1:05 left after Mark Cusano picks off Ron Powlus to set up the late chance to win. It was the final costly mistake for Notre Dame, which also saw Jim Sanson misses 3 of 4 FG attempts.

The Irish had jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the 1st quarter behind the running of Autry Denson, who finishes with 133 yards and 1 TD. The Trojans draw even 17-17 on Abrams' 42-yard FG in the 3rd quarter.
