Tennessee snaps a 5-game losing streak to Florida when Jeff Hall converts his FG attempt and Collins Cooper misses his in OT. The ending is fitting as the Gators miss out on several scoring opportunities, with a pair of 1st-and-goal situations in the 1st quarter resulting in a fumble into the end zone and a short FG.

The Volunteers took the lead on Shawn Bryson's 54-yard TD run in the 1st quarter. After Tennessee stretched the lead to 10-3, Jesse Palmer hits Travis Taylor for a 9-yard TD pass to tie it just before halftime. The Volunteers regain the lead on Tee Martin's 29-yard TD pass to Peerless Price before Palmer answers with a 70-yard TD pass to Travis McGriff.

Palmer and Doug Johnson combine 409 yards passing but Florida succumbs to Tennessee' trouble during the losing streak, turning the ball over 5 times, including 4 fumbles.
