N.C. State weathers a electric start by Florida State to answer and become the 2nd team to deliver an ACC defeat. Chris Weinke hits Peter Warrick for a 74-yard TD pass on the 1st play off the game, but goes struggles from then on, tossing 6 INTs.

With the Seminoles' offense short-circuiting, the Wolfpack find big plays to rally. Jamie Barnette hits Eric Leak for a 31-yard TD pass to close the gap to 7-6. Torry Holt later returns a punt 68 yards for a TD and 13-7 lead in the 2nd quarter.

Holt and Barnette combine on the knockout blow, a 63-yard TD pass followed by a 2-point conversion for a 24-7 lead w/ 9:31 left. Holt, who had 5 TDs in the previous meeting, catches 9 passes for 135 yards while Barnette finishes 17-of-32 for 287 yards and 2 TDs.
