The Swamp becomes unkind to Florida in OT. Jeff Chandler pushes his PAT wide right after the Gators score first in OT. Florida appears to have a reprieve when Chris Kemp misses his kick following Alabama's TD, but the Gators are penalized and Kemp hits his 2nd attempt at the game-winner.

The Crimson Tide gets huge days from Andrew Zow and Alexander. Zow throws for 336 yards and 2 TDs, while Alexander rushes for 106 yards and 3 TDs, while catching 4 passes for 94 yards and a TD. Doug Johnson throws for 309 yards and 4 TDs for the Gators, while Darrell Jackson catches 6 for 127 yards and 3 TDs.
