Game Notes

Its War Eagle, as #24 Auburn wins the Tiger scrap in a walkway.

Ben Leard throws for 304 yards and 3 TDs to lead Auburn before the team lights up cigars in celebration while on the field, resulting in the game to be known as the "Cigar Game" with an accompanying "Cigar Curse" with Auburn not having won in Baton Rouge since.

However, on this day, LSU is the only one cursed as Auburn races to a 17-0 lead in the 1st quarter. The lead is extended to 24-0 on a crazy play with Leard hitting Ronney Daniels on a deep pass, but as Daniels running, he fumbles, after players from both teams scrape of the ball, Daniels gathers the bouncing football and continues into the end zone for an 84-yard TD play. The crazy play tops Auburn's 1st TD which comes when kicker Damon Duval scores on a fake FG from the 1-yard line.
