Boston College is able to control the ball and run out the final 3 1/2 minutes after Notre Dame strikes with 2 TDs to cut a 31-17 deficit to 2 points following Julius Jones' 67-yard punt return for a TD.

Tim Hasselbeck throws for 272 yards and 3 TDs and runs for another to lead the Eagles. After the Irish draw even 17-17 at the half, Hasselbeck runs for a 1-yard TD in the 3rd quarter and then hits Jamal Burke with a 34-yard TD pass, one play after a TD run was called back due to a holding call.
