Nebraska answers Tennessee's 2nd half rally with a powerful statement, putting together a pair of 90+ yard drives to secure the win. After the Volunteers draw within 17-14 in the 3rd quarter, the Cornhuskers respond with consecutive back-breaking drives.

Eric Crouch hits Toby Golliday for a 13-yard TD pass, capping a 96-yard drive. After being pinned at the 1-yard line, Nebraska hammers away for a 99-yard drive capped by Correll Buckhalter's 2-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter. Nebraska rushes for 321 yards and also gets a big play from the special teams when Bobby Newcombe returns a punt 60 yards for a score in the 1st quarter.
