Florida State seals a birth in the National Championship showdown in the Sugar Bowl with its 21st straight regular season win. Chris Weinke throws for 263 yards and a TD to lead the Seminoles.

Weinke's 27-yard TD pass to Marvin Minnis gives Florida State a 30-16 lead with 6:03 left. Florida responds drawing within a score on Doug Johnson's 2-yard TD pass to Brian Haugabrook with just over 3 minutes to play. But without timeouts, the Gators are forced to try and onside kick attempt that Florida State recovers.
