Game Notes

#21 Bulldogs prevail over the #19 Boilermakers 28-25 in OT.

Georgia erases a 25-point deficit to claim the victory on Hap Hines' 21-yard FG in OT after Purdue's Travis Dorsch missed his 3rd FG attempt of the game on the Boilermakers' possession. Quincy Carter throws for 243 yards and the tying TD w/ 1:19 left in regulation.

Purdue had sprinted to a 25-0 lead behind Drew Brees' passing. Brees throws for 378 yards and 4 TDs, but is unable to get the Boilermakers on the board again after his 32-yard TD pass to Chris James early in the 2nd quarter. Chris Daniels catches 12 passes for 103 yards and 2 TDs. However, Purdue is undone by its kicking game. Dorsch misses a PAT after the 2nd TD and the Boilermakers unsuccessfully go for 2 points on the following TDs, trying to make up for the missed PAT.

Georgia's comeback is sparked by a 74-yard TD run by Terrence Edwards on an end-around. Carter scores on an 8-yard TD run midway through the 4th quarter, drawing within 25-18 with a successful 2-point conversion.
