Game Notes

Rebels nip the Sooners 27-25.

Ole Miss denies Oklahoma victory with Les Binkley's 39-yard FG on the final play. The Sooners, making their 1st bowl appearance since 1994, appeared in line for the win, erasing a 21-3 halftime deficit and taking the lead on Josh Heupel's 17-yard TD pass to Quentin Griffin w/ 2:17 left.

However, the Rebels quickly drive down field following Deuce McAllister's 43-yard kickoff return. McAllister had carried Ole Miss' 1st half surge, scoring first on a 25-yard TD pass from Romaro Miller and then adding an 80-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter.

McAllister finishes with 121 yards rushing and 3 catches for 55 yards while Miller throws for 202 yards and 2 TDs. Heupel leads the Sooners, hitting 39-of-53 passes for 390 yards and 3 TDs.
