Game Notes
Utes slip by the Bulldogs 17-16.
Utah narrowly defeats Fresno State by turning the tables on the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs block a pair of FG attempts, with Payton Williams returning the 1st 75 yards for a TD and 7-0 lead. However, its a blocked PAT that proves to be the difference as Fresno State lead just 16-14 after Colby Knight blocks Jeff Hanna's attempt in the 4th quarter.
Utah earlier blocked a FG attempt. In the end, the Utes take the lead for good when Cletus Truhe hits a 33-yard FG. Utah had dominated the game statistically as Mike Anderson rushes for 254 yards, setting the school record as well as Las Vegas Bowl record, while scoring twice. Omar Bacon adds 91 yards on 8 carries as the Utes roll up 548 yards on offense to help offset 151 penalty yards.
