Southern Miss gets 10 points off 3 turnovers and returns a blocked punt for another score to beat Colorado State. Chad Williams returns a fumble 5 yards for the 1st score and Brandon Francis recovers a blocked punt in the end zone for a TD and 13-3 lead in the 1st quarter.

Colorado State rallies to take a 17-13 lead, but the Eagles put together a big drive to regain the lead on Derrick Nix's 3-yard TD run just before halftime. Southern Miss' defense blanks the Rams in the 2nd half, and makes a late stand to preserve the lead and secure the win.
