Mississippi State is able to remain undefeated when Rod Gibson is able to nudge across the goalline for a 1-yard TD run w/ 1:39 left to avoid the upset by LSU. The Tigers had set the stage for the improbable upset when Ryan Clark recovers a blocked punt in the end zone early in the 4th quarter.

LSU drove into Mississippi State territory after the go-ahead score, but Pig Prather picked off Josh Booty to end the threat.
