Game Notes

Orangemen rally to beat the Wildcats 20-13.

Syracuse's ground game takes over after a game-ending injury to James Whalen grounds Kentucky's attack. Whalen severely dislocates an elbow in the 1st quarter as the Wildcats are driving for a second score, settling for a FG and a 10-0 lead.

The Wildcats appear headed for a 13-0 lead but a blocked FG awakens the Orangemen and James Mungro ignites the offense with an 86-yard run setting up Kyle Johnson's 2-yard TD run. Mungro, who rushes for 162 yards, puts Syracuse ahead 14-13 with a 32-yard TD run and later adds a 20-yard TD run.

Dee Brown adds 86 yards rushing for Syracuse. Dusty Bonner throws for 308 yards but can't get Kentucky in the end zone after the opening salvo.
