Penn Sate survives when Lavar Arrington blocks Nick Lotz's 52-yard FG attempt with :04 left. The Lions had gone ahead of Pitt on Travis Forney's 24-yard FG w/ 1:20 left.

The Panthers, a 34-point underdog, had tied the game 17-17 on John Turman's 42-yard TD pass to Julius Dixon. Turman throws for 316 yards and 2 TDs in attempting to pull off the huge upset.
