Southern Cal's defense prevails as Kris Richard picks off Josh Hawley for the 2nd time, the last of 6 San Diego State turnovers to seal the win. The Trojans dominated the 1st half leading 17-0 until Hawley hits Derrick Lewis with a 45-yard Hail Mary on the final play of the half.

Southern Cal is sluggish throughout the 2nd half allowing the Aztecs to climb back into the contest. When Jermaine Watkins returns an INT 62 yards for a TD late in the 4th quarter, San Diego State draws within 3 for the 2nd time.
