Mullen Mustangs dominate Cherry Creek in 49-21 win.

Mullen makes an immediate impression as LB Kyle Theret (Minnesota) returns the opening kickoff 98 yards for a TD. The Mustangs stall for awhile before opening up, en route to 619 yards offense, highlighted by 249 rushing and 3 TDs by Phillip Morelli (Colorado State).

Clint Brewster (Tennessee Tech) hits Devin Aguilar (Washington) with a 36-yard TD pass setting up one of Morelli's TD runs, and then Aguilar adds a 44-yard TD catch to open a 28-0 lead. The Bruins' junior Jack Elway (son of John Elway) gets Cherry Creek on the board before halftime with the 1st of his 2 TD passes.

However, Mullen continues dominating the 2nd half as Brewster finishes with 3 TD passes, including one to TE Steve Watson Jr. (Michigan).
