Game Notes

Mullen Mustangs top defending champ Douglas County in wild 41-38 overtime victory.

Receiver Devin Aguilar (Washington) puts the finishing touch to the win and huge performance, scoring the game-winner on a 6-yard reverse in OT after the Huskies had kicked a FG on their possession. Aguilar is the fitting hero for the Mustangs after catching 7 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs, including a 76-yarder after Mullen fell behind 13-0, and also runs 7 times for 140 yards and 2 TDs.

Aguilar's co-star is Phillip Morelli (Colorado State), who rushes for 169 yards and 2 TDs.

After falling behind early, Mullen strikes with 3 straight TDs by Aguilar leaving Douglas County in a position of chasing. But the Huskies do chase, continuing to come back, capped when Keifer Garton (Penn) hits Andy Nappo with a 8-yard TD pass, and then Curtis Prock for the tying 2-point conversion with :06 left in regulation.

Garton finishes with 254 yards and 3 TD passes, including an 80-yarder. Junior Ryan Misare (Air Force) rushes for 68 yards and 2 TDs.
