Dakota Cougars dominate defending champion Rockford in a 38-16 win.

James Stallons (Wisconsin) throws for 202 yards and 1 TD, while Greg Gay (Grand Valley State) rushes for 66 yards and 3 TDs and catches 5 passes for 89 yards and another TD.

The Cougars break the game open in the 2nd quarter. Gay runs for TDs of 1 and 4 yards in the 1st quarter, but the Rams answer when Tom Fusee hits Curtis Mobley for a 7-yard TD pass. After the teams trade FGs early in the 2nd quarter, Stallons hooks up with Gay for a 76-yard TD pass. Then Quentin Trotter scores on a 1-yard run to open a 31-10 lead right before halftime.
