Plano East Panthers rally for a 31-24 win over the Rockwall Yellow Jackets.

Junior Riko Smalls (Virginia) tosses a pair of 4th quarter TDs to lift the Panthers to the 1st round victory. Smalls, who throws for 144 yards and 3 TDs while rushing for 76 yards, hits Ryan Zych with a 23-yard TD pass to tie it 24-24 and then connects with Austin Conyers on a 39-yard TD pass to give Plano East the lead after it trailed 17-3 in the 1st half.

Smalls hit Chris Slater with a 10-yard TD pass late in the 2nd quarter, and then Philip Oladeji's 2-yard TD run ties it. However, Rockwall's junior Braden Smith (SMU) tosses a 20-yard TD pass to Marcus Mathis (Midwestern State) to give the Jackets a 24-17 lead. Mathis, who rushes for over 150 yards, has a 55-yard TD run in the 1st quarter. Smith adds a 15-yard TD pass to junior Michael Patterson (Rice) in the 2nd quarter.

Plano East includes LB/TE Keenan Robinson (Texas), OT Louis Finner (Utah), DT Zach Skelton (Midwestern State), S Collin Zych (Harvard).

Rockwall includes TE Cole Wardell (SE Louisiana), OT Rhett Richardson (Arkansas), sophomore LB Aaron Arterburn (Texas A&M).
