William Cole and Cedar Hill Longhorns speed by Cypress-Falls 51-17 for a perfect season and 1st state championship.

Cole (Oklahoma State/North Texas) runs for 290 yards and 3 TDs while throwing for 79 yards and 1 TD. Cole sets the tone right away, scoring on a 63-yard run on the 2nd play of the game. He later adds a 75-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter. His 19-yard TD pass to Dezmon Briscoe (Kansas) opens a 17-0 lead for Cedar Hill.

As soon as the Eagles get some life on a 3-yard TD run by Jack Freeman (UTEP), Cole responds with his 75-yard TD run. Cy Falls get solid efforts by Jeff Welch (Sam Houston State), who throws for 212 yards, and junior Shane Turner (Rice), who rushes for 122 yards.
