Birmingham Patriots hold off Notre Dame for a 28-21 win.

Thaddeus Brown (UNLV) pulls the Knights within 7 in the 4th quarter with his 2nd TD run, but the Patriots are able to run out the clock behind RB Milton Knox (UCLA transfer/Fresno State), who rushes for 139 yards and 3 TDs.

Knox scores twice in the 1st half helping Birmingham to a 14-0 lead. After Dayne Crist (Notre Dame transfer/Kansas) hits Jeff Dickman for a 27-yard TD pass to get Notre Dame on the board in the 3rd quarter, junior De'Von Flournoy (USC) returns the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for a TD. Crist hits 20-of-36 for 246 yards and 1 TD.
