Down 12 in the 4th quarter, the West storms back and forces OT when Rolando Blackman hits a pair of free throws with no time left on the clock. In OT, the West surge continues with Magic Johnson, Tom Chambers and Blackman leading the way.

Chambers, added to the roster when Ralph Sampson is injured, claims MVP honors as the hometown hero in Seattle, scoring 34 points. Blackman adds 29 points off the bench while Johnson delivers 13 assists.

Julius Erving makes a lasting impression in his final All-Star game, with 22 points and 5 assists for the East. Moses Malone leads the East stars with 27 points and 18 rebounds.
