Los Angeles wins its 11th straight while keeping the Boston reeling with a 6th loss in 7 games. The Lakers play without an injured James Worthy, while the Celtics are without Larry Bird.

Boston stays close through the first half, trailing 53-51 before Los Angeles pulls away. Magic Johnson leads the way with 22 points, 15 assists and 9 rebounds. Sam Perkins has 18 points and 9 boards, while Mychal Thompson delivers off the bench contributing 17 points and physical defense against Kevin McHale.

Brian Shaw leads Boston with 20 points, but scores just 2 in the 2nd half. McHale and Kevin Gamble each score 15.
