Its Showtime as the Lakers finish off the Sixers 114-104.

Los Angeles captures its 2nd title in 3 years after jumping in front early, leaving Philadelphia chasing all game long, failing to threaten for the lead until the finals minutes when the 76ers draw within 103-100 on Andrew Toney's 3-pointer with 3:55 left. However, Kareem Abdul-Jabber converts a free throw for a 3-point play and Philadelphia never threatens again.

Jamaal Wilkes leads Los Angeles with 27 points. The Lakers get a balanced attack with Abdul-Jabbar finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Bob McAdoo,Michael Cooper, Norm Nixon each contribute 16 points. Magic Johnson completes a matching triple double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists.

Julius Erving leads the Sixers with 30 points and Toney adds 29. However, Philadelphia struggles against the Lakers' fast break and falls behind early as Los Angeles takes advantage of soft interior defense.
