Green Bay escapes with the victory when Mike McMahon's pass on a 2-point conversion falls incomplete with 10 seconds left and the Detroit is unable to recover a second straight onside kick attempt, in falling to 0-10. McMahon had led the Lions from down 29-13 with 2 TDs in the final two minutes.

Brett Favre throws for 252 yards and 2 TDs, while Ahman Green rushes for 102 yards and 1 TD, and catches 2 passes for 48 yards and 1 TD. Favre connects with David Martin on a 1-yard TD toss late in the 1st half to give the Packers a 17-13 lead, and then Green takes a short pass 35 yards for a TD in the 3rd quarter helping Green Bay open a 29-13 lead.
