Gus Frerotte fills in for an injured Daunte Culpepper and throws for 267 yards and 4 TDs, including 3 in the 1st half as Minnesota opens a 28-0 lead. San Francisco manages a TD in the closing minutes to avoid the 49ers' 1st shutout since 1977.

By the time Frerotte hits Nate Burleson for a 22-yard TD pass late in the 1st half its game over as the Vikings lead 28-0. The Minnesota defense records 4 sacks and 3 INTs.
