Vikings put away the Bears 24-13 with an up-and-down performance.

Minnesota seems poised to blow out Chicago, striking early, converting a 51-yard pass from Daunte Culpepper to Kelly Campbell on the game's 1st play, into a TD. The Vikings go up 17-3 on Culpepper's 3-yard TD pass to Jim Kleinsasser in the 2nd period.

But despite a struggling offense, Chicago gets a 14-yard TD pass from Kordell Stewart to David Terrell late in the 1st half, and pulls within 17-13 before Minnesota puts the game away with Culpepper's 13-yard TD pass to Kleinsasser in the 4th quarter. Culpepper throws for 214 yards and 2 TDs, but also puts the ball on the ground 3 times slowing Minnesota's offense.

Chicago manages just 208 yards on offense.
