Candlestick Park was familiar grounds for Mariucci, who coaches San Francisco for 6 season, but it was familiar results for Detroit, which dropped its 19th straight on the road.

Jeff Garcia goes 15-of-27 for 192 yards and 2 TDs, while the 49ers jump out to a 17-0 lead. Garcia's 14-yard TD pass to Aaron Walker early in the second quarter makes it 17-0. The Lions draw to within 17-10 by halftime, but Garcia adds a 1-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter to regain San Francisco's control.
