Falcons crush the Saints 35-7.
Atlanta forces 5 turnovers and stops New Orleans' attack, allowing the Falcons to set the NFL record for fewest points allowed in a 14-game season w/ 129 points allowed, beating Minnesota's mark of 133 points allowed during the 1969 season. Atlanta knocks out Archie Manning and Tom Blanchard in the process.
Steve Bartkowski tosses a pair of TDs, and Haskel Stanback rushes for 129 yards and 2 TDs. Manning is knocked out on a hit by Jeff Merrow in the 1st half, and Blanchard is knocked out while attempting to pass on a fake punt that ends up being picked off by Mike Esposito and returned 55 yards setting up an Atlanta TD.
