Defenses dominate for much of the 1st half before the teams put together back-to-back big plays. Scott Hunter hits Greg McCrary with a 49-yard TD pass pass in the 2nd quarter, 1 play after Rolland Lawrence picks off Fran Tarkenton.

However, Tarkenton answers on Minnesota's next offensive play, lofting a 54-yard TD pass to Sammy White. The score remains 7-7 until Chuck Foreman breaks loose on a 51-yard run to the 1-yard line, setting up Tarkenton's 6-yard TD pass to Bob Tucker in the 4th quarter.

Tarkenton goes 16-of-26 for 235 yards and the 2 TDs, while also tossing 3 INTs. Foreman rushes for 91 yards. Together they are too much for an Atlanta offense to match, as the Falcons manage just 212 yards and can't take advantage of 5 turnovers.
