Falcons stage a big late comeback to steal one from the 49ers 20-17.

Down 17-7 and struggling to find any offense, Atlanta strikes in the final 5 minutes. Steve Bartkowski hits Alfred Jackson with a 71-yard pass setting up a 21-yard FG by Tim Mazzetti. Then Bartkowski finds Billy Ryckman behind the secondary for a 59-yard TD pass to tie it 17-17.

After getting the ball back 1 more time, the Falcons drive to a 29-yard FG by Mazzetti to win it on the final play. Bartkowski throws for 256 yards, with 130 of it coming on the 2 big 4th quarter passes.

San Francisco runs for 208 yards but suffers 2 turnovers, and is unable to crack the end zone after Scott Bull scrambles 15 yards on a fake FG for a TD and 14-7 lead in the 2nd quarter.
