Lions keep the Bears reeling 21-17.

Detroit starts strong and holds off Chicago in the 2nd half, to extend the Bears' losing streak to 6 after a 3-0 start. Gary Danielson is an efficient 20-of-32 for 190 yards and 2 TDs for the resurgent Lions.

Danielson finds Jesse Thompson for a 2-yard TD pass in the 2nd quarter for a 14-3 lead, and then atones for an INT in the end zone with a 9-yard TD pass to David Hill on the next possession for a 21-10 lead going into the half.

Walter Payton rushes for 89 yards and catches 7 passes for 119 yards but cannot carry Chicago's rally in the 2nd half.
