Roger Staubach rallies Cowboys to a 24-20 win over the Bears.

Dallas overcomes 3 lost fumbles by Tony Dorsett as Staubach tosses his 3rd TD pass, a 22-yarder to Tony Hill w/ 1:51 left in the game. Staubach, who leaves the game briefly in the 1st half after being dazed, hits 18-of-31 for 222 yards. Dorsett, in spite of the lost fumbles, rushes for 108 yards in his part of a duel with Walter Payton. Payton runs for 134 yards, becoming Chicago's all-time leading rusher.

Staubach hits Hill with a 42-yard TD pass, helping Dallas to a 10-7 lead at the half. However, Vince Evans finds the big-play touch. He hits just 5-of-16 passes, but 2 go for long TDs. Evans hits a wide-open Golden Richards on a 52-yard TD pass early in the 3rd quarter for a 13-10 lead.

Staubach answers with a 11-yard TD pass to Billy Joe DuPree, but Evans strikes again, hitting James Scott on a 62-yard TD pass to regain the lead.
