Saints keep Lions frustrated with 17-7 win.

Detroit manages just 197 yards and commits 4 turnovers, falling to 1-7 while the Saints reach .500. Jerry Golsteyn is unable to spark the Lions, going just 2-of-9 for 16 yards and 2 INTs before being replaced.

Meanwhile, the Saints are able to built a 17-0 lead before the Lions show signs of life. Archie Manning hits Wes Chandler for a 24-yard TD pass in the 1st half, and Garo Yepremian hits a 21-yard FG in the 2nd, his 19th straight conversion. Tommy Myers picks Golsteyn in the 3rd quarter and returns it 52 yards for a TD.
