Game Notes

Redskins blow away the Packers in the 2nd half for a 38-21 win.

Trailing 21-7 at halftime, Washington heats up while Green Bay's Lynn Dickey cools off. Joe Theismann tosses 3 of his 4 TDs in the 2nd half, while Dickey misfires on all 16 pass attempts after going 13-of-17 for 2 TDs in the 1st half.

The Packers score 21 straight after Washington scores on its opening drive of the game. However, the Redskins start the 2nd half with a scoring drive, capped by Theismann's 8-yard TD pass to Danny Buggs. He follows it with a 39-yarder to John McDaniel early in the 4th quarter to tie it. Then a 12-yard TD pass to John Riggins gives Washington the lead.

Theismann goes 21-of-34 for 256 yards while Riggins rushes for 88 yards and catches 7 passes for 34 yards.
