Clinging to a 1-score lead in the 4th quarter, Green Bay makes a pair of defensive stops, including forcing a fumble deep in Packers territory when San Francisco is driving. The 49ers had jumped in front 13-0 before Green Bay gets a pair of FGs by Tom Birney and a 1-yard TD run by Terdell Middleton.

The Packers break the tie with Gerry Ellis' 8-yard TD run early in the 4th quarter. Ellis and Eddie Lee Ivery combine for 174 yards rushing as Green Bay wins with ball control.
