St. Louis is able to withstand a rally by Atlanta when Mick Luckhurst misses an attempt at a tying FG in the final 2 minutes. Ottis Anderson rushes for 122 yards and 1 TD on a wet, muddy day.

The Cardinals jump in front 14-3 on TD runs by Wayne Morris and Anderson. They stretch the lead out to 23-13 in the 4th quarter after a 1-yard sneak by Neil Lomax on 4th down after taking points off the board when the Falcons are penalized on the previous play.
