New Orleans dominates, beating Atlanta for just the 2nd time in the last 11 meetings to temporarily stay alive for the final NFC playoff berth. The Saints are eliminated when Detroit beats Green Bay.

Kenny Stabler throws for 271 yards and 1 TD, while Wayne Wilson rushes for 83 yards and 3 TDs and catches 11 passes for 89 yards. New Orleans sets a franchise record with 32 first downs. The Saints break the game open taking a 21-6 lead on Russell Erxklaben's 39-yard TD pass to Bill Hurley on a fake punt early in the 3rd quarter.
