Vikings withstand a late rally to beat the Lions 34-31.

Detroit scores a pair of TDs in the final minute, but Minnesota recovers an onside kick with :10 left to seal the victory. The Lions had rallied within contention, trailing 27-17 before Charlie Johnson picks up a fumble and returns it 44 yards for a TD late in the 4th quarter.

Minnesota jumped in front 24-7 in the 1st half as the Vikings' offense rolls. Tommy Kramer hits 20-of-29 for 233 yards and 3 TDs, all 3 coming in the 1st half. Gary Danielson throws for 345 yards and 3 TDs, but also suffers 2 INTs, a fumble and 7 sacks.
