Game Notes

Broncos beat the Bengals 24-17.

Denver wins at home for the 1st time since 1981 after Cincinnati comes up empty on 3 straight passes into the end zone in the final 13 seconds. The Bengals had driven from their own 10 in the less than 2 minutes after a Rick Parros fumble scuttled the Broncos' hopes of sealing the win by running out the clock or kicking a FG.

Parros had earned hero stripes earlier, catching a 7-yard TD pass from Steve DeBerg to break a 17-17 tie in the 4th quarter. Parros earlier had a 3-yard TD run to give Denver a 17-10 lead. However, Cincinnati drew even after Ray Horton returns an INT 55 yards for a TD in the 3rd quarter. DeBerg finishes with 284 yards and 2 TDs.
