Notes: Includes commercials and halftime... The Bears deny the Bucs big plays, while making their own in a 17-10 win.

Chicago forces Gerald Carter out at the 1 following a long pass, and then stop Tampa Bay after it has 1st-and-goal at the 1, forcing a FG. The Bears then answer with a 73-yard TD pass by Jim McMahon to Walter Payton.

Tampa Bay is able to tie it on James Owens' 1-yard TD run in the 3rd quarter, but Terry Schmidt picks Jerry Golsteyn in the 4th quarter and returns it 32 yards for the decisive TD. Payton is held to 45 yards rushing, but catches 6 passes for 115 yards.
