Detroit forces 5 turnovers, jumps out to a 17-0 lead and is never challenged by Pittsburgh. Billy Sims rushes for 106 yards and 2 TDs, and Eric Hipple tosses a pair of TD passes to Ulysses Norris.

Sims caps the Lions' opening drive with a 2-yard TD run, and then Eddie Murray adds a 27-yard FG after Cliff Stoudt tosses the 1st of his 4 INTs on the next series. Hipple's 13-yard TD pass to Norris makes it 17-0 before the end of the 1st quarter.
