Detroit stalls Minnesota's offense, to take a 1-game lead in the NFC Central and control of the division with 2 games left. The Lions hold the Vikings to 224 total yards, and stop several drives deep in Detroit territory.

Minnesota gets its lone points when Mike Black steps out of the end zone for a safety in the closing minutes. Eddie Murray hits a pair of FGs for Detroit, including a 50-yarder and Eric Hipple hits Jeff Chadwick with a 10-yard TD pass as the Lions take a 13-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.
